CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Two members of the Virginia men’s tennis team, freshmen Spencer Bozsik (Charlottesville, Va.) and Jerome Romualdez (Manila, Philippines), were named 2018 ITA Scholar-Athletes in honors announced Tuesday (July 24) by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Bozsik played in fourteen doubles and four singles matches in his rookie season. Romualdez played in eight singles and six doubles matches this year.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
