Rain Suspends Play at The Landfall Tradition

Wilmington, N.C. – The No. 2 Virginia women's golf team was tied for sixth place when inclement weather suspended the first round of play at The Landfall Tradition tournament in Wilmington, N.C. The first round will resume Saturday at 10 a.m. and be followed by the second round of the 54-hole event.

Wilmington, N.C. – The No. 2 Virginia women’s golf team was tied for sixth place when inclement weather suspended the first round of play at The Landfall Tradition tournament in Wilmington, N.C. The first round will resume Saturday at 10 a.m. and be followed by the second round of the 54-hole event.
 
With players having completed between 14 and 17 holes of the round, UVA stood at 12-over par for the day.
 
UVA’s top player on the leaderboard was senior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.), who was 1-over through 14 holes and tied for ninth place. Senior Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) was in 15th place after 17 holes at 2-over par while junior Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was in 22nd place at 3-over. Sophomore Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) and senior Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) were tied for 57th at 6-over par.
 
When play was suspended, Wake Forest was atop the leaderboard at 4-over par while Duke was in second place at 7-over par.
