CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia (9-2-3) will be home at Klöckner Stadium on Wednesday (Oct. 31) to take on Pittsburgh (7-10) in the first round of the ACC Championship. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and the match will air live on ACC Network Extra.

TICKETS AVAILABLE
Fans can purchase tickets at a discounted rate in advance by going online to VirginiaSports.com/Tickets. Advanced sales and online purchases are $8 for reserved seats (if available) and $5 for general admission. At the game day window, reserved tickets are $10 and general admission will be $8. Students of a participating school will be admitted free of charge with the presentation of a valid student ID.

FOR STARTERS
• Virginia and Pittsburgh will meet in the ACC Tournament for the first time on Wednesday.
• The Cavaliers enter the tournament as the sixth seed for the third-straight season while Pittsburgh fell to the 11th seed after a 1-0 home loss to Notre Dame on Friday.
• Virginia emerged victorious in the regular season meeting between the two teams, 2-0 in Pittsburgh.
• The Cavaliers are 6-2-2 at Klöckner Stadium this season.
• Virginia has played in four, first-round games in the tournament’s history and own a 4-0 record. In the championship’s current 12-team format, Virginia is 2-0 in first round games.
• Virginia is 7-0-1 all-time against Pittsburgh and 5-0 in Charlottesville.
VIRGINIA IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
• The Cavaliers own the most wins (42), goals (112), finals appearances (19) and tournament titles (10) in 31 years of the ACC Tournament.
• Virginia is unbeaten in its last four ACC Tournament games (2-0-2) and reached its 19th ACC Title game last season, drawing Wake Forest, 0-0 before falling in penalty kicks. The Cavaliers last tournament title came in 2009, en route to the program’s sixth national championship.
• Virginia is 42-18-12 in ACC Tournament games. Only seven tournament games have been played at Klöckner Stadium (two in 2017) in which the Cavaliers own 6-1 mark.
LAST TIME OUT
• Virginia delivered its fourth-straight shutout, blanking Pittsburgh 2-0 at Ambrose Urbanic Field on Sept. 28. The Cavaliers were in the midst of a 484-minute streak of not conceding a goal.
• Freshmen Cabrel Happi Kamseu and Aboubacar Keita were credited with second half tallies in the 52nd and 63rd minutes, respectively.
• The Cavaliers played with a man-up for the final 14:48 after a red card to Marcony Pimentel was shown his second yellow.
NCAA COMMITTEE TOP 10
• On Sunday (Oct. 28), the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Committee announced its top-10 ranking, with Virginia coming in at No. 4 behind Wake Forest, Indiana and North Carolina.
• The ranking is a sneak peek of the thought process of the committee based on the results through Oct. 21.
• Criteria includes strength of schedule, Rating Percentage Index, head-to-head competition, results versus common opponents, significant wins and losses and locations of contests.
• Of the 10, seven were ACC teams.
POSTSEASON EXPERIENCE
• Of the current Virginia starting lineup, four field players started all four games in last year’s ACC postseason – Robin Afamefuna (359 minutes), Joe Bell (387 minutes), Prosper Figbe (400 minutes) and Nathaniel Crofts (353 minutes).
• A total of 10 current Cavaliers played in last year’s ACC Tournament, including Colin Shutler who made his collegiate debut against in the first round against Boston College.
NOTING PITTSBURGH
• The Panthers will compete in the ACC Tournament for the third-straight year and are seeking their first ACC postseason victory. In two previous tournament games, Pittsburgh has been outscored 9-0.
• Pittsburgh come into Wednesday’s match having lost five of their last six games, including the final three of the regular season.
• Edward Kizza leads the team and the ACC in goals scored in 2018 with 13. He’s scored an ACC-high, five goals against league opponents.
• In ACC play this season, Pittsburgh has recorded conference wins over NC State (9/25, 3-1) and Clemson (10/5 – 2-1 OT).
