Charlottesville, Va. –Virginia women’s golfer Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) has been named the ACC’s Women’s Golfer of the Month for September. The Cavalier senior opened the season by finishing first at Michigan State’s Mary Fossum Invitational. It was her first career win.
Redding shot 9-under 207 at the Fossum Invitational, matching her best 54-hole score as a Cavalier. After opening with rounds of 69 and 68 on the first day of competition, Redding shot 2-under 70 during the final round, including three birdies over her final six holes. Her performance helped UVA win the tournament in first-year coach Ria Scott’s debut as the Cavaliers’ head coach.
Virginia returns to action next weekend when the Cavaliers compete at the Tar Heel Invitational from Oct. 12-14.
