CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The Virginia wrestling team (3-2) returns home to host a pair of duals this weekend with Central Michigan (0-1) at 7 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 7) and Princeton (1-2) at 4 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 8).
 
Both duals will be held at Memorial Gym and admission to all Virginia home duals is free to the public. 
 
Central Michigan has wrestled in one dual so far this season, falling to No. 5 Michigan. Princeton defeated No. 8 Lehigh in its last outing, with its other two losses coming at No. 3 Iowa and at No. 15 Wisconsin. The Tigers will wrestle at No. 14 Virginia Tech on Friday night.

FOLLOW THE ACTION
Friday’s dual with Central Michigan will stream on ACC Network Extra, which is available to authenticated subscribers of ESPN3 through WatchESPN and the ESPN app. There is no video stream for the Saturday dual with Princeton.

CAVALIERS IN THE RANKINGS
Virginia has several wrestlers in the national rankings this week by InterMat after last weekend’s trip west to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Sophomore Jay Aiello (Chantilly Va.) is the highest-ranked wrestler at No. 11. Joining him in the InterMat rankings are sophomore Louie Hayes (Orland Park, Ill.) at No. 16 and two wrestlers at No. 17 in freshman Cam Coy (Jeannette, Pa.) and junior Sam Krivus (Greensburg, Pa.).

THE SERIES WITH CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Virginia and Central Michigan have faced off four times with the Chippewas holding a 3-1 lead in the all-time series. The first meeting came in the 2000-01 season. Virginia’s win over the Chippewas would come in the 2012-13 season when the Cavaliers picked up a 21-13 victory over then ninth-ranked Central Michigan on the road. The last meeting came in the 2016-17 season on the road.

THE SERIES WITH PRINCETON
Virginia and Princeton have faced each other three times in program history with the Cavaliers holding a 2-1 lead in the series. The first meeting came in the 1965-66 season, the lone win in the series for the Tigers. Virginia picked up its first win in the second meeting, a 42-0 victory on the road in the 2009-10 season. The last meeting came at home in the 2010-11 season, a 30-6 home victory for Virginia.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE HOOS
Virginia went on the road last weekend, traveling west for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Three wrestlers placed for the Cavaliers, led by a third-place finish from Aiello. The only unranked and unseeded wrestler to finish in the top three of any weight class, Aiello won four matches against nationally-ranked foes, including two wins over second-seeded and eight-ranked Nathan Traxler of Stanford. Also placing for Virginia were Krivus and Schany. Krivus took seventh, while Schany finished eighth.  

UP NEXT FOR VIRGINIA
The Cavaliers will go back on the road to face No. 6 Missouri in a neutral-site match in Kansas City, Mo. The dual will be held at Park Hill High School. Fans can follow the action through FloWrestling.org.
