Notre Dame outscored the Cavaliers 27-11 in the first quarter but Virginia outscored the Irish 58-56 in the final three quarters

Lauren Moses became the 34th player in program history to reach the 1,000 career points milestone when she made a free throw with 5:48 remaining in the fourth quarter. She is the second player this season to reach that milestone, joining Aliyah Huland El who did so in the Cavaliers’ last home game vs. Louisville

Felicia Aiyeotan had her seventh double-double of the season. She scored a season-high 17 points, going 7-of-12 from the field, with 11 rebounds, including seven O-boards

Aiyeotan scored six points with four rebounds in the second quarter

J’Kyra Brown scored 17 points, her most since an 18-point performance at NC State (Jan. 4)

Notre Dame had a 9-0 run to start the game as well as an 11-0 run in the first quarter

The Irish started the game making five of their first seven shot attempts to start the game and to start the second half

Notre Dame scored 21 points off turnovers in the first half but only five in the second half.

The Cavaliers were +6 in rebounding (38-32). Both teams had 15 turnovers. Virginia shot 39.1 percent (25-of-64), Notre dame shot 55.0 percent (33-of-60)

Virginia falls into a tie for fourth-place in the ACC with NC State. Notre Dame remains tied with Louisville atop the conference standings

Virginia is 0-6 this season against teams in the AP Top-25. The Cavaliers defeated Syracuse this season when the Orange were ranked No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll but were just receiving votes in the AP poll. Virginia’s last win over a top-25 team was last year’s 60-51 victory over then No. 4 Florida State (2/16/17)

Virginia is 0-6 against the Irish in ACC games.

The Cavaliers play their final home game of the 2017-18 season, hosting Miami on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 12:30 p.m. which is this year’s Play4Kay game. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game. Sunday will also be Senior Day with the Cavaliers’ four seniors set to be honored with a brief pregame recognition
