Record-Setting Hoos

Two former #UVABASE stars have recently tallied some impressive accomplishments. Washington Nationals closer and MLB All-Star Sean Doolittle has recorded 29 straight appearances of 1+ IP and zero base on balls, a new MLB record.

Teammate Mark Reynolds had 10 RBI in Saturday’s 18-4 victory over Miami, just the 15th player in MLB history to have double-digit RBI in a single game. As the Nats’ team twitter so pun-fully puts it, he definitely “brought his U V A game.”

A pair of Virginia student-athletes tied the knot over the weekend as Andrew Atkinson of the wrestling team and Micah Brickhill of the track team said their vows with teammates and coaches (pictured) on hand to celebrate the nuptials. Congrats to Andrew and Micah!
