Greco Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.– Virginia men’s lacrosse player Logan Greco has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference for game played through March 3.
Greco (Sr., Hauppauge, N.Y.) aided UVA’s defensive effort in the Cavaliers 15-14 overtime win at then-No. 14 Syracuse. In six-on-six situations, he allowed Cuse’s goal-scorer Nate Solomon to only one assist. Solomon had a game-high three turnovers as Greco’s presence aided the Orange attackman into some mistakes.
It is the first ACC Player of the Week accolade for Greco in his career. It is the second week in a row the Cavaliers boast the ACC Defensive Player of the Week. Goalie Patrick Burkinshaw received the distinction last week.
UVA returns to action on Sunday when the Brown Bears come to Klöckner Stadium. Faceoff is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
