ATLANTA – An eight-run third inning led Georgia Tech (17-10, 2-2 ACC) to a 13-0 victory over Virginia (13-10, 3-1 ACC) in the series opener on Friday (March 15).

The loss snapped Virginia’s eight-game winning streak and was the first ACC loss of the season for the Cavaliers. Walks plagued the Cavaliers as 10 of Georgia Tech’s 13 runs were a product of a walk or hit-by-pitch.
