WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Virginia men’s track and field team competed against William & Mary and George Mason at the W&M Triangular at Zable Stadium on Saturday (March 16) to open the outdoor season.

“When it comes to performances, March doesn’t matter, May does,” director of track and field Bryan Fetzer said. “March is for training, which we had some solid performances today with that in mind. A lot of our men didn’t compete and won’t for a few weeks, but those that did have some things to consider and make adjustments on going forward.”

Junior Spencer Dodds (Temecula, Calif.) led the event with a time of 3:54.12, while freshman Colton Bogucki (Purcellville, Va.) finished second with a time of 3:55.23 and sophomore Ryan Buscaglia (Richmond, Va.) finished third with a time of 3:56.65.

Sophomore Jordan Willis (Williamsburg, Va.) finished first in the 100m dash with a time of 10.96 and first in the 200m dash with a wind assisted time of 21.59.

“Anytime we can compete in our home state is a positive,” Fetzer said. “It allows for a large portion of our student-athletes’ parents to have the opportunity to make a short drive to see them compete.”
