Browns Summit, N.C. – The No. 15 Virginia women’s golf team shot 16-over 304 during Sunday’s final round of play at the Bryan National Collegiate to finish ninth. The Cavaliers’ three-round total for the event was 26-over 890. Wake Forest took the team title at 34-under 830 as the Deacons had players finish in the top three spots on the leaderboard.
 
Virginia senior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) led UVA in scoring for the fourth time this season, finishing 21st at 4-over 220. Redding shot 3-over 75 during the final round.
 
Seniors Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) and Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) tied for 26th place. They shot 5-over 221. Patrick posted UVA’s low score for the final round, shooting 2-over 74. Gonzales closed out the tournament with a 75. Her tournament score was a low 54-hole total for the season.
 
Sophomore Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) finished in 49th place at 228 and junior Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was 78th at 237.
 
Freshman Riley Smyth (Cary, N.C.), who competed as an individual, finished 29th at 222. That was her low tournament score of the season.
 
UVA wraps up its regular season next weekend at the Clemson Invitational that takes place April 7-9.
 
Redding will not be with the team at that tournament. She will play in the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur set for April 3-6 at Champions Retreat Golf Club and Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
