CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The sixth-ranked Virginia women's soccer team (2-0-0) continues its season-opening homestand this weekend with a pair of matches against East Carolina and No. 12 West Virginia. The Cavaliers will face ECU at 5:30 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 30) before facing the Mountaineers at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 1).

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The sixth-ranked Virginia women’s soccer team (2-0-0) continues its season-opening homestand this weekend with a pair of matches against East Carolina and No. 12 West Virginia. The Cavaliers will face ECU at 5:30 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 30) before facing the Mountaineers at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 1).

Friday’s match with the Pirates is part of a doubleheader with the Virginia men’s team. Tickets are good for both games on Friday, however reserved seat tickets are only good for the corresponding event. 

The Friday match with ECU will be carried on ACC Network Extra (ACCNX) which streams live on the ESPN app. ACCNX is available through participating cable and satellite TV providers that carry the ACC Network. Sunday’s match with West Virginia will be carried on the ACC Network. Fans can get more information about the ACC Network and ACCNX here.

TICKET INFORMATION
For all regular season home games, reserved single-game tickets can be purchased for $8 online and in advance, and $10 at the box office on game day. General admission single-game tickets are $5 online and in advance, and $8 at the box office on game day.
 
Soccer season tickets are only available for delivery either as mobile or print-at-home, however upon request and in person only including at the game day ticket office an option for point-of-sale paper stock printing is available for $10 per account. Fans are encouraged to take advantage of discounted single game pricing by purchasing tickets in advance and using mobile ticketing options or printing their tickets at home.

The first 500 fans who purchased season tickets will receive confirmation by email and can pick up their free Virginia Soccer scarf at any of the first three home matches.

• Virginia moved up to No. 6 nationally in the United Soccer Coaches rankings after a 2-0 opening week

A LOOK AT EAST CAROLINA
• ECU is 0-0-1 entering the weekend after a draw with Richmond last week
• Daria Draovitch scored the lone goal for the Pirates in that opener
• Jayda Hylton-Palaia is the AAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year
• ECU was picked to finish fifth in the AAC in its preseason coaches’ poll
 
THE SERIES WITH THE PIRATES
• Virginia and ECU have met twice with UVA holding a 1-0-1 record 
• The first meeting was a 4-0 UVA win in the 2004 season
• The last meeting was a 1-1 draw played at ECU in the 2017 season
 
A LOOK AT WEST VIRGINIA
• WVU went 1-1 last week, beating Duquesne before falling to No. 3 Stanford
• The Mountaineers were picked to win the Big 12 in a vote of league coaches
• Keeper Rylee Foster and defender Jordan Brewster are preseason All-Big 12

ORDONEZ SHINES IN DEBUT WEEKEND FOR THE CAVALIERS
• Ordonez shone in her debut weekend, tallying 10 points for the Cavaliers in two matches
• Ordonez tallied a goal and two assists in the season opener against UC Irvine as Virginia posted a 7-0 victory
• She then followed it up with a hat trick that included the game-winning goal in a 6-0 victory over Liberty
• The hat trick was the first by a Cavalier since Veronica Latsko tallied three goals against Pitt on October 1, 2017
• Her four goals and 10 points were the third most by any player nationally in the opening weekend of competition 
 
SPAANSTRA TURNS IN RARE PERFORMANCE WITH FOUR ASSISTS AGAINST LIBERTY
• Spaanstra hit rarified air for a Cavalier with a four-assist match in the win over Liberty 
• She assisted on four of the six goals scored by the Cavaliers – including the first four goals scored by UVA
• The two goals without an assist from Spaanstra were a PK and the final goal of the game scored by Ordonez
• The four assists was the most by a UVA player since a five-assist game from Morgan Brian vs. High Point in 2014
• It’s also only the third time a UVA player has tallied four or more assists in a game, the other time being a four-
   assist performance from Wendy Hartwig vs. UMBC in the 1995 season
• Spaanstra’s five assists was the most by any player in the nation during the opening weekend of competition
 
NEXT WEEKEND FOR THE CAVALIERS
