Promotions, Gameday Enhancements for 2019-20 Women’s Basketball
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The 2019-20 Virginia women’s basketball home schedule features 14 promotions throughout the season.
The Cavaliers open their second season under head coach Tina Thompson tonight against Bucknell. The home opener is also slated as Military Appreciation night at John Paul Jones Arena.
On Saturday, Nov. 16, fans with a ticket to the men’s basketball game against Columbia will receive free admission to cheer on the women’s squad as they take on Kentucky. Tip-off against the Wildcats is set for 5 p.m. as part of the doubleheader with men’s basketball.
Virginia will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Jan. 19 when the Cavaliers host rival Virginia Tech. NGWSD brings national attention to the achievements of female athletes and to issues facing girls and women in sport. Two weeks later on Feb. 2, the Cavaliers will host Syracuse for their Play4Kay game to raise awareness for the fight against women’s cancers.
The Cavaliers will close the season on March 1, celebrating Senior Day along with Fan Appreciation and Alumni Day.

Gameday Enhancements
In 2019-20, Virginia women’s basketball will feature a new DJ, in-game host and public address announcer. Ryan Kersey will DJ the women’s basketball games while Briana Fuller joins the gameday experience as the Cavaliers’ in-game host. Jeff Harrington, who has served as the public address announcer for Virginia field hockey and volleyball, will now serve the women’s basketball program on the mic.
Season Ticket Information
Season tickets for the 2019-20 are on sale and provide the best value. Reserved seating will be available in sections 102-104 and sections 112-114 with all the remaining seats classified as general admission.
Reserved seat season tickets are $75 per seat or $60 per seat for UVA faculty and staff. General admission season tickets are $65 per seat or $52 for UVA faculty and staff. All courtside seat season tickets are $150 for the women’s basketball season.
Women’s basketball season ticket holders also receive a reserved parking permit for parking in the John Paul Jones Arena lot.
Single-Game Tickets
Single-game tickets for each of the Cavaliers’ home games are on sale. Reserved tickets are $8 in advance and online and $10 at the JPJ Box Office on game day. General admission tickets are $5 in advance and $8 on the day of the game at the JPJ Box Office.
Groups of 20 or more may purchase general admission tickets for $4 each.
