• The series in Atlanta marks the farthest west Virginia will travel in the regular season.

LONG TIME COMING
• Virginia’s sweep of Pitt to open ACC play marks the first time the Cavaliers have opened league action at 3-0 since 2010.
• It is the first ACC sweep at home for Virginia in 15 years, since UVA swept a two-game series from NC State.
• The sweep was Virginia’s first since 2017, when the Hoos blanked Notre Dame on the road.

SMITH PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Senior Lacy Smith earned her first career ACC Player of the Week honor for her performance in the sweep of Pitt.
• Smith went 5-for-9 with a home run, double and four RBI to power the Cavaliers.
• The honor was also the first of the season by a Virginia player.

STREAKING
• Virginia has won eight-straight games thanks to back-to-back 3-0 weekends.
• The eight-game run is the longest for the Cavaliers since a nine-game stretch back in 2012. It is just the third time Virginia has posted a winning streak of six or more games in this decade.
• During the current streak, Virginia is hitting .384 as a team and outscoring opponents by an average 8-3.
• The Cavaliers have 14 doubles, a triple and 18 home runs in the streak to slug .703 as a club. The Hoos are also reaching base at a .437 clip during the run.
• The pitching staff has posted a 2.56 ERA and is holding opponents to just .189 at the plate in an equally impressive stretch.

GOTT IT
• After a slow start to the season, senior Olivia Gott (Weston, Fla.) has hit in 10 consecutive games for Virginia.
• During her hitting streak, Gott is hitting .452 with three doubles and a pair of home runs.
• She’s also reaching base at a .541 rate over the past 10 games.

VERSUS GEORGIA TECH
• In one of the closest ACC series for Virginia, the Cavaliers trail the Yellow Jackets 45-42 in the series.
• Georgia Tech swept last season’s series at The Park in Charlottesville.
• Virginia holds a 20-17 all-time record in Atlanta and won the last series played at Mewborn Field.
