Ordoñez, Spaanstra Named ACC All-Tournament Selections

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Sophomore forward Diana Ordoñez (Prosper, Texas) and junior forward Alexa Spaanstra (Brighton, Mich.) were both named to the All-Tournament team at the ACC Championships it was announced by the league office on Sunday (Nov. 15) after completion of the tournament finals.

The pair of forwards helped Virginia advance to at least the semifinals of the tournament for the fourth consecutive season and ninth time in the last 10 years.

Ordoñez recorded a hat trick for the Cavaliers in the quarterfinal match against Louisville to become only the fifth player to accomplish the feat in ACC Tournament history and the first since the 2004 season. Spaanstra added the fourth goal for the Cavaliers in the 4-1 win over the Cardinals in that quarterfinal match and assisted on the opening goal when she connected with Ordoñez.
