CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball’s incoming recruiting class for the 2020 season received highest honorable mention recognition from PrepVolleyball in its ranking of the top women’s volleyball classes this recruiting cycle. The recognition places Virginia’s class of five incomers as one of the top 60 classes in the country.
 
The Cavaliers are welcoming five newcomers to Grounds for the 2020 season, including middle blockers Czhen Beneby (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Laila Rogers (Rockville, Md.), outside hitter Mary Shaffer (Cincinnati, Ohio), setter Hannah Prendergast (Leesburg, Va.) and defensive specialist Madison Morey (Marietta, Ga.). Both Rogers and Shaffer were named Senior Aces, placing them among the top 250 recruits in the nation.
 
Virginia is one of six ACC programs to land in the highest honorable mention category. Three ACC programs were ranked among the top 30 incoming classes.
