CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 7 Virginia rowing team opens the 2021 spring season on Saturday-Sunday (March 13-14) at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The two-day event will feature morning and afternoon racing on Saturday as well as morning racing on Sunday. Racing on the 2,000-meter course at the Melton Lake Rowing Venue is slated to begin at 9 a.m. each day, while Saturday’s afternoon session is slated to begin at 3 p.m.

The Cavaliers will be joined this weekend by 11 other programs, including Alabama, Clemson, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, Minnesota, Notre Dame, SMU, Tennessee, Tulsa and Wisconsin.

The Cavaliers will have five crews competing in three sessions over the two days. UVA won 12 of 15 races during the two-day event to start the 2019 season.
