CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams will look to build on a strong start to the season at last week’s UVA Opener when they compete at the Raleigh Relays on March 25-27. The three-day meet takes place at NC State’s Paul Derr Track and Field Facility. Events start at 10 a.m. on all three days. No spectators are permitted at this year’s meet.

Last Saturday the Cavaliers won 30 of 38 events at the UVA Opener against Bucknell and Delaware (women) at Lannigan Field. The Cavaliers had 14 performances that rank on UVA all-time top-10 list during the event. UVA enters this weekend with several Cavaliers ranked in the top-20 nationally following that meet:

Meyer Honored

On Wednesday the ACC recognized Michaela Meyer as the women’s track performer of the week after her win sin the 800m and 1500m at the UVA Opener, her first outdoor meet at Virginia after transferring from Delaware. The graduate student in nursing is the only athlete in the nation to be ranked in the top-five of both the 800m and 1500m heading into this weekend.
