Three Cavaliers Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Three members of the Virginia women’s soccer team were named to first-team Academic All-District honors by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) it was announced by the organization on Thursday (June 3).
Junior forward Rebecca Jarrett, redshirt senior defender Lizzy Sieracki and senior midfielder Taryn Torres are eligible for selection for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors by virtue of being selected to the All-District first team.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Due to the restructuring of the 2020-21 women’s soccer season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, consideration for selection to the All-District teams included career athletic statistics and achievements and was not restricted to the most recently completed season. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete had to be a sophomore or higher in athletic standing and hold a 3.3 cumulative grade point average.
