Cavaliers Get Early Start to Indoor Season

A group of distance performers will open the indoor season for Virginia when they participate in day one of the Liberty Kickoff Invitational on Thursday, Dec. 2. The Cavaliers will compete in the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter races.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A group of distance performers will open the indoor season for Virginia when they participate in day one of the Liberty Kickoff Invitational on Thursday, Dec. 2. The Cavaliers will compete in the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter races. The 3000m starts at 6 p.m. and the 5000m at 6:45 p.m. at Brant Tolsma Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

The meet will feature Liberty and High Point along with selected athletes from Elon, JMU and UVA. Admission to the meet is free.

Competing on the women’s side will be Margot Appleton (5000m), Veronic Boire (3000m), Lila Fenner (3000m), Taylor Jones (3000m), Amelia Kokernak (3000m), Helena Lindsay (5000m) and Liza Neely (3000m).

The Cavalier men will be represented by Jackson Braddock (3000/5000m), Jacob Hunter (3000m), Derek Johnson (5000m), Ka’eo Kruse (3000/5000m), Conor Murphy (3000m), Johnny Rogers (3000m) and Justin Wachtel (5000m).
