CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s basketball team (3-15, 0-8 ACC) wraps up its current road trip by playing at Boston College (14-7, 5-5 ACC) on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Conte Forum.

NOTING THE CAVALIERS

  • Amandine Toi led the team in scoring at Florida State, her 10th time leading UVA this season. Her 10 points was her 13th double-digit scoring game of the season
  • Toi has made 18 of Virginia‘s 29 three-pointers in conference play and 34 of their 67 overall treys
  • Toi had four steals at FSU. Toi is tied for the team lead in steals with 23
  • UConn transfer sophomore forward/guard Mir McLean was granted a waiver by the NCAA last Thursday afternoon (1/27) granting her immediate eligibility at UVA. She made her debut that night against Virginia Tech, scoring 11 points with a team-high nine rebounds. In her two games in a UVA uniform, she is averaging 9.0 points and 6.5 rebounds
  • McLean played a total of eight minutes for the Huskies this season. She appeared in 24 games last season, averaging 2.8 points per game
  • Eleah Parker blocked four shots at Florida State. She ranks seventh in the ACC at 1.6 per game. She is averaging 2.7 per game in conference contests, which ranks second
  • Forward Nycerra Minnis made her delayed collegiate debut at Florida State, blocking a shot in her four minutes on the floor. Minnis was sidelined last season with a leg injury and had not yet appeared in a game this season
  • Taylor Valladay is averaging 10.7 points per game in conference contests. She averaged 6.7 points per game against non-conference opponents
  • Valladay ranks eighth in the ACC in assists per game at 3.4
  • Kaydan Lawson led the team in rebounding at Florida State, the sixth time this season she has led the team in rebounding. Lawson is averaging 7.3 rebounds per game in her last four games. She has the highest single-game rebounding total on the team this year with her 14 boards at North Carolina

SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE

  • The Eagles are coming off back-to-back losses at Georgia Tech and at Notre Dame
  • BC is 10-2 at home this season
  • Taylor Soule is fifth in the ACC in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game
  • Cameron Swartz is eighth at 14.3 points per game
  • Marnelle Garraud is seventh in steals per game at 1.86 and seventh with a 1.44 assist-to-turnover ratio. She is sixth in assists at 3.8 per game
  • Virginia leads the all-time series 17-5 and has won the last eight meetings
  • BC’s last win in the series was a 69-65 victory in Conte on Feb. 6, 2014

ON THE HORIZON

  • The Cavaliers will be back home on Sunday, Feb. 6 when they take on Clemson (7-14, 1-9 ACC) for UVA’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration. The game tips at 4 p.m. and airs on the ACC Network
  • Prior to the game, UVA Women’s Center Directory Abby Palko will moderate an online panel discussion focused on the contributions women have made to athletics at the University of Virginia. Director of Athletics Carla Williams, long-time administrator Jane Miller (retired), Title IX Coordinator Meredith Smith, and UVA volleyball head coach Shannon Wells will share insights into Title IX.
