MONTERREY, Mexico – Sophomore Emma Navarro is competing at the Abierto GNP Seguros, a WTA 250-level tournament taking place in Monterrey, Mexico.
Navarro will take on Marcela Zacarias of Mexico in the opening round on Monday. Zacarias is ranked No. 208 in the world. Navarro has moved up to a career-best No. 202 WTA world ranking.
Navarro dropped her first set 6-1, but rallied to win the second in a tiebreaker, 7-3. Zacarias took the third set 6-3.
