CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women’s golfers Jennifer Cleary and Amanda Sambach will start their opening rounds at the 122nd annual U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship today (Aug. 8) in University Place, Wash. Cleary, a junior, and Sambach, a sophomore, are part of the 156-player field who will compete at Chambers Bay Golf Club. The championship runs through Sunday.
The field will play 36 holes of stroke play before a cut (top 64 players) for the match play portion of the event.
Cleary is schedule to tee off at 12:55 p.m. PDT while Sambach starts play at 1:28 p.m. PDT. Both players will begin their rounds on the 10th tee.
