CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia’s senior defender Andreas Ueland has been named to the 2022 ACC preseason watch list, the league announced Tuesday (August 16).

Ueland comes off a junior campaign in which he started all 17 games for the Cavaliers, playing every minute on defense. Ueland tallied two goals and an assist in 2021 for a total of five points.

Over the course of his career at Virginia, Ueland has twice earned All-ACC honors as well as a selection to the ACC All-Tournament team in 2020. The defender has amassed six goals and three assists in his three seasons. Ueland was also a vital component of a defense that surrendered just 13 goals in 24 games and held opponents to a 0.53 goals against average in 2019.

The Cavaliers will host one final preseason match against Bowling Green on Saturday (Aug. 20) before opening their season at home against Xavier on Thursday, August 25 at 7 p.m.
