CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Coming off the winningest campaign in more than a decade, Virginia softball announced its 2023 schedule on Tuesday and season tickets are now on sale for the upcoming season. It is a slate that features 27 home games and includes a pair of home tournaments and four home series in ACC play.

SEASON TICKET INFORMATION
New season tickets for the 2023 season are on sale beginning Tuesday, Oct. 18. General admission seats are $50 each. Reserved seats are subject to availability based upon renewal of existing season ticket members. Season tickets may be purchased online at UVATix.com or by calling the Virginia Athletic Ticket Office at (434) 924-8821. UVA full-time faculty and staff are eligible to receive a discount of 20 percent on up to four season tickets by calling the ticket office.

Current softball season ticket members may renew their 2022 seats beginning Tuesday Oct. 18, online at UVATix.com or by calling the Virginia Athletic Ticket Office at (434) 924-8821. The deadline to renew is Wednesday, Nov. 30. Season ticket members interested in adding or upgrading their seats may do so during the renewal period by calling the ticket office.

THE 2023 SCHEDULE
Virginia opens the season on the road in a tournament at the University of Houston (Feb. 9-12) with games against Lamar, Houston and Nebraska. The opening weekend also features a single game at Sam Houston State (Feb. 10) between days at the Houston tournament. The Cavaliers will then continue play on the road at UNC Greensboro (Feb. 16) before facing Minnesota and Maryland at the Big 10/ACC Challenge (Feb. 17-19) with games played in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Virginia then returns home to host the Cavalier Classic (Feb. 23-16) with games against Longwood, Maryland-Eastern Shore, St. John’s, Howard and George Washington. The Cavaliers will then host Radford (Feb. 28) in a doubleheader before hosting the Palmer Park Clash (March 3-5) with games against Fairfield, DePaul, St. Francis and George Mason.

The non-conference slate also consists of single games at home against Hofstra (March 21), Liberty (April 11) and JMU (April 18). Virginia will play non-conference games on the road with single games at Liberty (March 7) and Longwood (May 2).

In ACC play, the Cavaliers will host Georgia Tech (March 10-12), North Carolina (March 31 – April 2), Virginia Tech (April 6-8) and Louisville (April 21-23). Virginia will go on the road for ACC series at Clemson (March 17-19), Pittsburgh (March 24-26), Florida State (April 14-16) and Syracuse (April 28-30).

The 2023 ACC Championship will be hosted by Notre Dame (May 10-13).

NOTES ON THE SCHEDULE
• Virginia will host the Cavalier Classic for the first time since the 2021 season and 10th time ever.
• The inaugural Palmer Park Clash will see Virginia host a pair of tournaments for the first time since 2004.
• Clemson, Georgia Tech, UNC and Syracuse rotate back on the schedule after being off for the 2022 season.
• Virginia will not face Boston College, Duke, Notre Dame or NC State in the ACC schedule.
