CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia senior Nick Jackson was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Linebacker of the Week on Monday (Oct. 31). Jackson earned the weekly honor for the first time in his career.

Jackson keyed a stellar defensive performance by UVA as the Cavaliers extended their streak to eight quarters of not allowing an offensive touchdown. Jackson made 14 tackles, assisted on a tackle for loss and was credited with a pass break up in UVA’s 14-12 loss to Miami. The double-digit tackle effort was the 19th of his career.

Through eight games played, Jackson leads the ACC with 10.5 tackles per game. His 84 total tackles are also tops in the ACC and are ninth-most in the country.

The UVA defense held Miami to 272 yards of total offense, the fewest by a Hurricane team since 266 vs. Alabama in the 2021 season opener. Miami only had one play in the game of more than 20 yards (23).

It marked the fourth time a Cavalier has earned an ACC weekly award this season.
