Virginia Closes Competition at Hokie Invitational
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams closed out another weekend of competition on Saturday (Jan. 21) at the Hokie Invitational at Rector Field House as Tyler Lynch took home a victory while Jordan Hardy impressed again in the triple jump.
In the men’s unseeded pole vault, Lynch took the victory as he cleared a height of 4.71 meters (15’5.5”). In the seeded competition, Virginia freshman Justin Rogers recorded a personal best clearing 4.86 meters (15’11.25”).
Jordan Hardy turned in a second-consecutive personal best performance in the triple jump. After clearing 12.46 (40.10.5”) meters a week ago, Hardy placed third in the competition with a mark of 12.63 meters (41’5.25”). Hardy’s mark ranks as the ninth-best in Virginia history.
In the men’s 400 meters, Alex Sherman won his heat with a time of 47.97. Sherman finished fifth overall in the event.
Keara Seasholtz finished third in the 800 meters clocking a time of 2:12.93 while in the men’s triple jump, Heldi Valikaj turned in a personal-best performance as he cleared 15.00 meters (49’2.5”) finishing third in the competition.
Jay Pendarvis took second place in the 200-meters with his best performance of the season crossing the finish line in 21.70 seconds.
A Cavalier 4×400 team of Jaden Lyons, Evans White, Luke Schroeder and Will Trent capped the night with a fourth-place finish in the relay as the team posted a time of 3:18.20.

Day One Highlights:
- Alix Still set a personal best in the pentathlon scoring 4,083 points
- Her point total ranks second in the ACC and fifth across NCAA Division I
- Still also set personal-bests in the shot put and 800-meters
- Jada Seaman won the 60-meter dash while Kayla Bonnick placed fourth
- Peter Djan took fourth in the 60m hurdles clocking 8.07 seconds
- Jaden Lyons took home a victory in the 300 meters
