CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Nineteen members of the Virginia field hockey team were named to the All-ACC Field Hockey Academic Team in honors announced Thursday (Feb. 2) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Grad student Annie McDonough earned the honor for the fourth time in her career, while Laura Janssen earned their third. Adele Iacobucci and Cato Geusgens were honored for the second time in their careers.
A record number of student-athletes earned selection to the 2022 All-ACC Field Hockey Academic Team, with each of the league’s seven programs earning at least seven selections.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
