CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No. 1 Virginia men’s tennis team (6-0) takes on No. 5 Kentucky (6-0) on Friday, Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. The Cavaliers will also play on Sunday, hosting Radford (0-2) at 5 p.m.

  • Friday’s match is a rematch of the 2022 NCAA Championship. 7-seed Virginia defeated 8-seed Kentucky 4-0 in that match to win its fifth NCAA title
  • Virginia has won 28-straight dual matches dating back to last season and has yet to surrender a point to an opponent this season
  • Both Virginia and Kentucky hosted ITA Kickoff Weekend matches last week with UVA topping Nevada and Princeton by 4-0 scores and UK clinching their berth at Indoors with a 4-1 win against Notre Dame
  • Virginia remained at No. 1 in this week’s ITA team rankings while Kentucky dipped on spot to No. 5. Updated individual rankings will be released next week
  • Ryan Goetz is 10-2 in singles this year, including a 6-0 record in dual matches. He is the only Cavalier to complete all of his singles matches this spring

  • Virginia is 10-6 all-time against the Wildcats and has won the last three meetings, including winning in Lexington in the regular season last year and the Championship match in Champaign
  • Radford has played two matches this season, both were shutout losses against Wake Forest
  • This is the first-ever meeting between Radford and Virginia
