Eight Cavaliers Named To All-ACC Wrestling Academic Team

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Eight members of the Virginia wrestling team earned a spot on the All-ACC Wrestling Academic Team it was announced by the league office on Monday (April 10).

Neil Antrassian, Michael Battista, Dylan Cedeno, Vic Marcelli, Patrick McCormick, Justin McCoy, Jarod Verkleeren and Ethan Weatherspoon all locked up spots on the team for the 2022-23 season.

McCoy is a four-time selection, while McCormick is a three-time selection and Battista makes his second appearance on the team. Cedeno, Marcelli, Verkleeren and Weatherspoon all earned the honor for the first time this season.

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s competitions.
