CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Freshman right-hander Eden Bigham has been named the ACC Pitcher of the Week it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday (April 18) with the release of the weekly award winners.

It is the second ACC Pitcher of the Week honor for Bigham who earned the recognition for the first time after the opening weekend of play.

Bigham posted a 2-0 record on the week as she turned in a complete-game shutout of Liberty in midweek action and helped the Cavaliers post a win at No. 4 Florida State in game two of the weekend series with the Seminoles.

The win over Liberty was the sixth complete-game shutout of the season for Bigham and gave the Hoos a win over Liberty for the first time since the 2019 season. In the win at Florida State, Bigham helped hold the powerful Seminole offense in check while her team built a 6-0 lead. She left the game in the sixth inning with Virginia up 6-2, a runner on first and one out on the board.

Bigham and the Hoos return to action on Tuesday night with a home game against JMU at Palmer Park. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
