CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – For the third straight year, Virginia will be hosting the first and second rounds of both the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships.

The matches will take place Friday, May 5 through Sunday, May 7 at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort.

Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for students with a valid ID per session.  Ages 2 and up are required to have a ticket. Tickets can be purchased beginning Tuesday by calling the Virginia Athletics ticket office at 434-924-8821, online at UVAtix.com, or on-site at Boar’s Head Resort starting one hour prior to the event.

The women’s team (18-6) earned an at-large bid into the field of 64 teams, earning a No. 12 seed. UVA will host Northeast Conference champion LIU (12-10) in the second match on Friday. Princeton (16-6) and Fordham (14-7) will play in the opener.

The men’s team (24-4) earned the Atlantic Coast Conference’s automatic bid into the championship and was named the No. 5 overall seed. Virginia will open play by facing Navy (23-19) as the second match on Saturday. Ole Miss (17-9) and VCU (20-5) will play in the first match of the day.

This is the Virginia men’s 19th-consecutive NCAA Championship bid and the 18th time that they have hosted a regional. Virginia has won five NCAA titles, including three consecutive from 2015-17.

The women are making their 22nd appearance in the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships and their fifth-consecutive appearance under head coach Sara O’Leary.

The 16 teams advancing from the second round of the tournament will participate in two-team super regionals on the campuses of the higher-seeded teams, set to take place on May 13-14. As a top-eight seed, the men’s team is in line to host super regionals next weekend should they advance. The women’s team could also host if 5-seed Michigan fails to advance.

The eight super regional winners will then advance to the site of the finals at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida, with the quarterfinals through championship matches being contested May 17-20. NCAA Singles and Doubles will take place May 22-27.

Virginia hosted both the men’s and women’s regionals for seven consecutive years from 2010-2016 and also did so each of the last two years.

Singles and doubles selections for the NCAA Individual Championships will be announced Tuesday (May 2).
