CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The Virginia women’s tennis team (20-6) plays a Round of 16 match of the 2023 NCAA Women’s Tennis Team Championship at Michigan (24-3) on Saturday, May 13 at 1 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

MATCH INFORMATION

  • Live scoring will be available for the match
  • Live streaming will be available if the match moves indoors. Michigan’s outdoor courts do not have court cams

NOTING THE CAVALIERS

  • The Cavaliers are the No. 12 seed in the tournament but are No. 11 in the latest ITA team rankings. Michigan is the No. 5 seed and the No. 5 team in the rankings
  • Virginia has won the doubles point in 15 of its last 19 matches
  • Julia Adams and Mélodie Collard are ranked No. 10 in doubles with a 22-5 record with 20 of those wins coming in dual matches
  • Adams reached 30 doubles wins last weekend for the season
  • Natasha Subhash and Elaine Chervinsky are ranked No. 29 in doubles with a 20-7 record as a duo
  • Subhash is looking to join Adams with 20 doubles wins, sitting at a 29-8 mark for the year
  • Sara Ziodato leads the team in singles victories with a 27-10 record. She has won her last eight completed matches

VIRGINIA & NCAA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

  • Virginia is the No. 12 seed in the championship
  • Virginia is making its 22nd appearance in the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships and fifth-consecutive under head coach Sara O’Leary
  • This is Virginia’s eighth time advancing to the Round of 16
  • The Cavaliers have reached the quarterfinals three times, including last season (2014, 2016 and 2023)

  • Jaedan Brown is the highest-ranked Wolverine at No. 22 with a 21-13 record in singles. Kari Miller is No. 36 with three other players ranked in the top-125
  • Miller and Brown are ranked No. 3 in doubles with a 22-7 mark
  • This is Virginia’s first trip to the Varsity Tennis Center since March 13, 2019
