Natasha Subhash Repeats as Academic All-American
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia senior Natasha Subhash has been named to a 2023 Academic All-America Women’s Tennis Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday (June 1). The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Subhash was one of 18 student-athletes to be named an Academic All-American in women’s tennis for 2022-23, earning a place on the second team.
Subhash reached 20 wins in singles for the third time in her career and earned her third straight invitation to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship. She has reached a top-10 ranking in doubles this season. She earned her bachelor’s degree last month from the McIntire School of Commerce, earning the 2023 Walter B. Doggett Accounting Award in recognition of distinguished academic achievement and outstanding scholarship in the discipline of accounting. She will pursue her master’s in accounting in the fall.
Subhash was a CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American last season when tennis was still under the at-large designation of sports. She is the only player in program history ever to earn the accolade. She is one of three players this season to have also earned the accolade last year.
