Kelly and Till Earn Pocock Racing Shells All-America Honors
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia’s Kate Kelly and Leia Till earned 2023 Division I Pocock Racing Shells All-America honors, announced Thursday (July 13).
Kelly was named to the Pocock Racing Shells All-America first team, while Till earned second-team honors.
Kelly and Till helped the Cavaliers to their 13th consecutive ACC championship and 22nd overall in the 23 years of the event. The duo also helped the Cavaliers to their fifth consecutive top-10 finish at the NCAA championship with its 11th-place finish in the Varsity Eight.
To meet the criteria for Pocock All-America selection, a student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution while having rowed in at least 75 percent of the season’s races in the varsity boat. Boat performance, nomination rank, coach’s comments, individual achievements and 2,000-meter erg scores are also considered.
