Maris Large Joins Virginia Women’s Lacrosse as Director of Operations

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women’s lacrosse head coach Sonia LaMonica completed her staff with the addition of Maris Large as the Director of Operations.

Large joins the Cavaliers’ coaching staff after serving as a Cav Lax Elite head coach in Charlottesville since May 2023. She has spent the last year as a teaching assistant with Mountaintop Montessori in Charlottesville, Va.

Prior to her time in Charlottesville, Large spent two years working with the 802 Lacrosse Club as a head coach. She spent four seasons as a member of the Vermont women’s lacrosse team, serving as a team captain her last two seasons. Large led the team to its first ever America East Conference Championship and first NCAA tournament appearance in 2022.

Large graduated from Vermont in 2022 with a degree in Psychology.
