No. 6 Virginia Hosts No. 14 Liberty on Tuesday
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 6 Virginia field hockey team (1-0, 0-0 ACC) hosts No. 14 Liberty (2-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) on Tuesday, August 29 at 5 p.m at Turf Field in Charlottesville, Va.
Admission is free for all regular-season home games at Turf Field.

NOTING THE CAVALIERS
- Tuesday’s game against No. 14 Liberty is Virginia’s second of three-straight contests against ranked opponents
- The Cavaliers opened the season with a 2-1 win against No. 5 Penn State on Friday (Aug. 25)
- Forwards Laura Janssen and Minnie Pollock accounted for the two UVA goals. Pollock set up Janssen’s score for the first and Janssen set up Pollock for the second
- Pollock’s goal was the first of her career
- Pollock was one of three freshmen to make their collegiate debuts against Penn State. Defender Mia Abello was in the starting lineup. Striker Emma Watchilla also played in the game
- Junior Noa Boterman logged two defensive saves. She had one defensive save last season giving her three for her career
- Junior Tyler Kennedy made her first start since September 16 of last season against Penn State, logging six saves
NOTING LIBERTY
- Liberty improved to 2-0 with an overtime win on Sunday against Indiana. Reagan Underwood converted a penalty stroke 38 seconds into the overtime period to secure the win for the Flames
- The Flames are back-to-back BIG EAST Champions and ranked No. 14 in the preseason NFHCA poll
- Virginia is 6-1 all-time against Liberty and has won the last two match-ups

- The Cavaliers are on the road this weekend, playing at No. 11 Saint Joseph’s on Friday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. and at Temple on Sunday, Sept. 3 at noon
