CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia grad student striker Laura Janssen (Nijmegen, Netherlands) has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (Aug. 29) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Janssen had a hand in both of UVA’s goals in its 2-1 victory against No. 5 Penn State last Friday (Aug. 25). Janssen scored the game-tying goal early in the third period and then set up Minnie Pollock’s game-winning goal in the fourth quarter.

This is the first career ACC Player of the Week honor for Janssen.

Virginia plays three games this week including hosting No. 14 Liberty (2-0) today at 5 p.m. at Turf Field.
