Dahl, Long and Rosts to Compete at 2023 World Rowing Championships
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Junior Sky Dahl and former Cavalier rowing standouts Heidi Long (2019) and Morgan Rosts (2018) will compete at the 2023 World Rowing Championships Sept. 3-10 in Belgrade, Serbia.
Dahl is part of the PR3 mixed four with coxswain that will represent the U.S. at the championship. Dahl and her teammates won gold at the Para Rowing Regatta to Paris in July on the Paralympic course in Vaires-sur-Marne, France.
“Attending the World Rowing Championships as a member of my first National Team is a huge honor,” Dahl said. “Being surrounded by some of the best rowers in the world is truly an amazing and unique experience. It has been inspiring getting to row side-by-side some impressive competitors on the practice course in these few days leading up. I am so grateful for the support I’ve received from back home and here as we head into racing!”
Long will represent Great Britain in the women’s four. Long earned bronze in the event at the World Rowing Cup III and silver in the World Rowing Cup II earlier this summer. Long and Great Britain earned gold in the women’s four at the 2022 World Rowing Championships.
“I am very excited to be racing in the GB women’s four for the World Rowing Championships this year,” Long said. “We have had an eventful season so far, but I am looking forward to seeing what we can do next week and hopefully qualify the boat for the 2024 Paris Olympics!”
Rosts will compete for Canada in the women’s eight. Rosts helped Canada to a silver medal in the women’s eight at the World Rowing Cup III and bronze medal at the 2022 World Rowing Championships.
“I’m honored to represent Canada in the women’s eight at the 2023 World Championships,” Rosts said. “It’s been an exciting and successful summer so far. These world championships serve as the initial qualifier for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. We’ve worked hard all summer and we’re now fine tuning in pursuit of our best performance yet!”
