Virginia Tied for Fourth After 36 Holes at Texas Valero Collegiate
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The No. 16 Virginia men’s golf team moved up to a tie for fourth place following Sunday’s second round of play at the Texas Valero Collegiate. The Cavaliers shot 3-over 291 for a 36-hole total of 3-over 579. Oklahoma is tied with UVA for fourth place.
TCU leads the 12-team field at 572 followed by Baylor (573) and Vanderbilt (575).
Sophomore Bryan Lee continues to pace UVA after posting his second consecutive round of 1-under 71. He moved up to seventh place at 2-under 142. Junior Paul Chang notched a score of even par 72 on Sunday to improve to 18th at 1-over 145. Junior Deven Patel is in 24th place at 146 and senior Grayson Wotnosky is 26th at 147. Freshman Josh Duangmanee is 45th at 149 while sophomore Henry Daily is 67 at 158. Daly is competing as an individual.
Patel and Duangmanee both shot 74 during the second round while Wotnosky recorded a round of 75. Daly shot 79 for the second consecutive day.
UVA is playing without Ben James during the event. James competed in the Walker Cup last weekend, helping Team USA to victory.
