CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – This week the No. 15 Virginia men’s golf team heads to East Hampton, N.Y. for the fourth annual Hamptons Intercollegiate hosted by Loyola University (Md.). The two-day tournament takes place Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 2 and 3 at Maidstone Club. Monday includes 36 holes of competition while Tuesday features a single round. Both days, play is slated to start at 7:45 a.m.

Virginia shared the title in 2021 with Georgia Tech and Northwestern and won the event outright in 2022. Last year, the Cavaliers shot 3-over 868 to post a 35-shot advantage over runner-up Yale (903). That was the largest margin of victory in a tournament in UVA program history.

Ben James took medalist honors at 5-under 211 while Deven Patel was second at 220. Chris Fosdick was the medalist in 2021, shooting 7-under 209.

This year’s tournament field includes Loyola (Md.), Alabama, UCLA, Georgetown, Harvard, Howard, Penn, Princeton, Ohio State and Yale.

UVA’s lineup for the tournament includes James, Patel, Fosdick (individual competitor), Bryan Lee, Paul Chang and George Duangmanee. UVA is scheduled to compete with Georgetown and Yale on Monday. Those teams will start their rounds at 8:35 a.m. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
