Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate is Setting for UVA’s Final Fall Event
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 25 Virginia men’s golf team plays its final event of the fall this weekend when the Cavaliers compete at Georgia Tech’s 17th annual Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. The three-day event takes place Friday through Sunday (Oct. 13-15) at the Golf Club of Georgia’s Lakeside Course in Alpharetta, Ga.
The first and second rounds get underway at 9 a.m. and Sunday’s final round is slated for an 8:30 a.m. start. Virginia will be paired with Charlotte and the Georgia Tech B-team during the opening two rounds. They will tee off starting at 9 a.m. from the first tee for the opening round.
The 14-team field includes: Charlotte, Clemson, Duke, East Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Pepperdine, USC, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, Wake Forest and Washington.
Virginia will field the same lineup as it did for the Hamptons Intercollegiate in the Cavaliers’ last outing. That group is Deven Patel, Ben James, Paul Chang, Bryan Lee and George Duangmanee.
At last year’s Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, Virginia tied for sixth place at 10-under 854. Pietro Bovari led the Cavaliers with a 10th-place showing, shooting 5-under 211. James was 20th at 2-under 214.
