CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior striker Taryn Tkachuk (St. Louis, Mo.) was named the co-ACC Offensive Player of the Week and grad student midfielder Adele Iacobucci was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (Oct. 17) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Tkachuk tallied seven points last weekend in a pair of road victories, scoring two goals with an assist at Wake Forest in the first multi-goal game of her career. She scored UVA’s regulation goal in the 2-1 double-overtime victory at No. 2 Duke. Ryleigh Heck of UNC earned the co-honor with Tkachuk.

Iacobucci made a game-saving defensive save in the first overtime against Duke. She also helped the Cavaliers hold the Demon Deacons to zero shots on goal in Friday’s 5-0 shutout victory. Offensively she also contributed a goal in the Wake Forest game.

This is Iacobucci’s second career ACC Player of the Week honor as she was named the Offensive Player of the Week in her sophomore season. This is Tkachuk’s first ACC Player of the Week nod.

These are the fourth ACC Player of the Week honors of the season for the Cavaliers. Laura Janssen was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 29, and Tyler Kennedy was the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 12.
