CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday (Oct. 24) that Virginia freshman Stephen Annor has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season following an incredible performance at Virginia Tech.

Annor was spectacular on Friday (Oct. 20) scoring two goals in a game for the second time this season as Virginia went on to beat Virginia Tech by a score of 3-0. The freshman sensation scored in just the third minute of play to get Virginia off the mark early, scoring inside the first five minutes of a game for the second time this season. He then put the game on ice with his 10th goal of the season in the 59th minute of the game.

With his 10th goal of the season, Annor has now tied Daryl Dike for the most goals scored in a single season by a Cavalier since the 2019 campaign—Dike accomplished the feat in 23 games while Annor has hit the mark in just 14. Of Annor’s 10 goals, seven have been scored in ACC play, a mark that leads the league. He currently ranks 12th in NCAA Division I in total goal and ranks third in NCAA Division I with five game-winning goals—just one off the leading total of six.

Annor secures the fourth ACC weekly honor for a UVA player in 2023. He has been named ACC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after scoring three goals in two games against JMU (Sept. 12), and NC State (Sept. 16).
