CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia (3-0) held North Carolina A&T (0-3) to 17-of-53 shooting (32 percent) to cruise to an 80-51 victory at John Paul Jones Arena on Tuesday night (Nov. 14).

The Hoos enjoyed a balanced offense throughout the game as 10 players found the bottom of the net, including three double-digit scorers: Leon Bond III (16 points), Ryan Dunn (13 points) and Jake Groves (11 points).

HOW IT HAPPENED
After opening up to a 10-6 lead, the Cavaliers sparked a 18-2 scoring run to take a commanding 26-8 lead over the Aggies. UVA entered the half with a 49-19 advantage after shooting 18-of-26 (64 percent), the largest halftime lead since Dec. 1, 2020, against St. Francis (Pa.). Bond led all players at the half with 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting off the bench.

Virginia stayed in the driver’s seat in the second half, going on two unanswered runs (6-0 and 9-0) midway through the second half.

THE GAME BALL GOES TO:
Ryan Dunn. Dunn notched his first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. He was active on the defensive end, finishing with three blocked shots and two steals.
