CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia volleyball team (10-17, 3-14 ACC) is set to face in-state rival Virginia Tech (13-15, 3-14 ACC) at Cassell Coliseum on Saturday (Nov. 25) at 1 p.m. to cap the 2023 season.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Virginia leveled the all-time matchup, 40-40, with in-state rivals Virginia Tech earlier this season in a thrilling come-from-behind five set win over the Hokies. The match was held at John Paul Jones Arena, the first volleyball match to be held at the venue, and drew a program record crowd 3,162 fans.

LAST TIME OUT

  • The Cavaliers fell in three sets in their 2023 home finale against NC State on Wednesday (Nov. 22) at Memorial Gymnasium.
  • Despite strong performances from middle blocker Abby Tadder and outside hitter Lauryn Bowie, Virginia could not match the Wolfpack’s strong offensive showing as NC State finished with a .343 hitting clip compared to UVA’s .181.
  • Tadder led the Cavaliers with 11 kills and three errors on 17 swings for a .471 hitting clip. Bowie also added eight kills and only one error on 13 attempts (.538 hitting percentage).
