CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 8 Virginia men’s squash team (3-4, 3-1 MASC) picked up a 9-0 victory against No. 17 MIT (6-5, 0-1 MAC) on Friday (Dec. 1) at the McArthur Squash Center in Charlottesville, Va.

The Cavaliers only dropped one game against the Engineers, winning 3-0 on eight of the nine courts to pick up the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference victory.

The match was the home opener for the Cavaliers.

FROM HEAD COACH MARK ALLEN

“After six straight matches on the road it was clear that the guys really relished the opportunity to get back on their own courts. Though their games have been developing with each match played, there is a level of confidence that can only come through winning, so getting a 9-0 victory tonight was the start to the weekend we needed. We are all looking forward to the next two days of competition.”
