CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia’s Stephen Annor and Mouhameth Thiam have been invited to the 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase. The event will take place in Phoenix, Ariz. from Dec. 6-9 in advance of the MLS SuperDraft which will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase will feature 44 of the top collegiate players representing 28 different schools to showcase their talents. Technical staffs from every MLS club will have the opportunity to scout top college prospects ahead of MLS SuperDraft 2024 which will feature an expanded eligible player pool.

Annor and Thiam were both First Team All-ACC selections in 2023. Thiam was named the ACC Co-Midfielder of the Year while Annor was voted ACC Freshman of the Year.

A graduate transfer from Oregon State, Thiam left his mark on the Virginia program in 2023. The midfielder logged the second-most points of any Cavalier this season with his total of 14 on five goals and four assists. Over five seasons spent in NCAA Division I, Thiam accumulated 70 points with 25 goals and 20 assists.

A Ghanaian freshman out of Montverde Academy, Stephen Annor burst onto the college soccer scene in 2023. Annor logged a total of 10 goals to lead the Cavaliers and marked the first time a UVA player hit double digits since Daryl Dike in 2019. Of his 10 goals, seven came in league play which was tied for the league lead.
