CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A school-record 27 Cavaliers were listed on the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic team. The Cavaliers were tied for the third-most selections of any ACC football program and it marks the second-straight season that 20 or more UVA football student-athletes were recognized.

In all sports, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or greater and must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests to be considered for the football All-ACC Academic team.

A total of 10 of the 27 honorees were honored for the second time in their careers – Paul Akere, Ethan Davies, Mike Diatta, Elijah Gaines, Mike Hollins, Noah Josey, Coen King, Jared Rayman, Daniel Sparks and Sackett Wood. First Team Academic All-American Malik Washington was also a First Team All-ACC honoree.

The ACC has selected an ACC All-Academic Team every year since 1954, and with the addition of this year’s selections, UVA has had 304 student-athletes earn such honors since the inception of the award.
