CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 5 Virginia women’s squash team (9-2) picked up a 7-0 victory against No. 24 Chatham (3-6) on Wednesday (Jan. 31) at the McArthur Squash Center in Charlottesville, Va.

The teams only played on seven courts due to a limited roster for the Cougars.

Virginia won 3-0 on five of the seven courts, including dominant performances by senior Meagan Best at position one, sophomore Lina Tammam at two and Griffin Dewey at seven.

Sophomore Nina Hashmi rebounded after dropping her first two games to win her final three to pick up a  win at four. Junior Eliza Mills preserved the sweep with a 9-11, 11-9, 11-4, 8-11, 11-6 win at five.

This was the third straight sweep for the Cavaliers, who also blanked Denison and Dickinson on Jan. 20 and 21.

The Chatham match was originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 19, but was postponed due to weather-related travel issues.
